Dr. Corey Sheffield

Volunteer Associate Director

Dr. Sheffield currently serves as the director of college advisement at KIPP Atlanta Collegiate High School. With more than eight years of experience in college counseling, Dr. Sheffield has helped many of his students get accepted into some of the best colleges in the United States: Spelman College, Duke University, University of Pennsylvania, Howard University, Syracuse University, Florida A&M University, University of Notre Dame, and many others. Sheffield entered the field of education as an earth and life science science teacher. After several years in the classroom, Dr. Sheffield transitioned into college counseling, helping students to understand the importance of post-secondary options. He is a member of professional organizations such as the National Association of College Admissions Counselors (NACAC) and the Southern Association of College Admissions Counselors (SACAC).

Dr. Sheffield received his undergraduate degree in biology from Voorhees College and holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Clark Atlanta University and a doctoral degree in educational leadership from Argosy University. As a product of two HBCUs, he is excited to be a part of an organization that will help mold and produce leaders who will be trained at HBCUs and ultimately make a significant impact in their communities and the world. In his spare time, he enjoys working out and spending time with family and friends.
